Interesting features :
• It is the largest one in the whole of India.
• It has a courtyard that has capability to hold around 25,000 devotees at a time.
• Construction of this big and great masjid started way back in 1644 and is said to have completed during the time of Shah Jahan, the then Mughal Emperor.
• The mosque is very highly decorated having four towers, three great gates, two 40 meter high minarets that are constructed upon strips of white marble and red sandstone.
• Robes can be hired by travelers at northern gate, helping the foreign tourist to be dressed like a local and without having any feeling of an outsider.
